Le Voyageur

Le Voyageur showcasing seven to eight works including valuable editioned lithographs by Zao Wou-Ki and Chu Teh-Chun, as well as original paintings by T'ang Haywen. Between 1948 and 1951, these artists had traveled to France successively for study, and later decided to stay there for the rest of their lives. Because of this, they had been exploring their Chinese roots while influenced by different Western modern art groups, hence developed a unique style of modern abstract expressionism blending the East and the West. To celebrate their position as the giants of Chinese art from the same early period of 20th century in France, as well as commemorating the centenary of Chu Teh-Chun’s birth, this exhibition will trigger a powerful dialogue between them.
